Public Announcement: Construction disruptions at the UDLS Kampala office

The Ministry of Works and Transport (MoWT) informs the public that construction of the One Stop Licensing Centre at the Uganda Railway Corporation Building on plot 57 Nasser Road, Kampala will begin on 1 August 2022 and run for 24 months. This will cause some interruptions to the Uganda Driver Licensing System (UDLS) project housed at the same address.

Points to note:

  • The One Stop Licensing Centre when completed will be a single access point for all information and service transactions for licensing in Uganda and the new home for the UDLS main office.
  • The UDLS Kampala office will have minimal adjustment to the customer flow which might cause some delays in service delivery. Customers are reminded that peak hours at UDLS are 11am to 3pm, and are advised to put this in consideration as they plan to come for service.
  • Hours of operations remain 8am-5pm weekdays and 8am-1pm Saturday in Kampala and at the regional offices in Arua, Gulu, Mbale, Jinja, Mbarara, and Fort Portal.

The public is reassured of our continued commitment to world-class service in issuing driving licences. We apologise for the inconvenience caused by these developments.

More information can be found on the MoWT website (https://works.go.ug).
