Driving Licence Verification/Authentication:

To get a letter of authentication or have a Driving Licence verified:

  • Visit the Ministry Portal https://services.works.go.ug/ and under the Driving Licences menu, select “Search and Certification of Driving Licence”. You will be directed through the steps and generate a Payment Registration Number (PRN).
  • Proceed to pay the fees (UG Shs 60,000) to Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), using any of the approved URA channels (Any Bank in Uganda, Mobile Money Option, Visa, Mastercard, EFT, RTGS etc).
  • Email licences@works.go.ug requesting verification with an attachment of a scanned copy (front and back) of the Driving Licence and a copy of the receipt or the PRN.
  • ⁠Clearly state to what email the letter should be sent.
